Unwind Arts and Crafts runs workshops that are a creative bubble bath for your soul. They offer the chance to slow down, catch your breath and enjoy some time to yourself to have fun, relax and be creative.
Unwind is run by me, Lindsay, both in my own studio on a farm in Littleworth and I also travel to lead private workshops for charities, community groups and private parties.

I have been selling and exhibiting my own work and teaching textile workshops for adults and children for the last 8 years.

I am passionate about encouraging other's creativity, and about the potential role for art and craft in our mental wellbeing. Unwind aims to bring these together with fun, inspiring, creative workshops that focus on enjoying the process just as much, if not more, than the finished product. I hope they can be a harbour from the storm of our busy lives and minds. They are also a welcoming and accepting space for those struggling with depression and anxiety.

Wild Drawing (Green Sketching) Morning
Saturday 11 April, Saturday 2 May, Saturday 6 June, Saturday 4 July & Saturday 1 August 9.30am – 12noon

Spend the morning re-connecting with nature and enjoying the restorative and calming effects of outdoor sketching.

Don’t be frightened off by the idea of a drawing workshop - no artistic talent or experience is required! You definitely don’t need to be ‘any good’ at drawing – and we definitely won’t make you share your sketches with the group if you don’t want to. Green sketching is all about building confidence, having fun being creative outdoors and finding joy, peace and beauty in nature.
Wild drawing workshops focus on enjoying the process of drawing rather than worrying what sketches look like. I won't be teaching you 'how' to draw but we will explore some exercises that will help build confidence, really see the nature around you and help you record it creatively and sometimes a little bit experimentally.

The workshop will take place on my family’s farm in Littleworth, nr Faringdon. Depending on the weather we might stay in one place, keeping the chill off by sketching by an open campfire with hot drinks; or wander a little to explore some of our hedgerows and woodland on the farm.

All materials will be provided including a sketchbook to keep, to continue to bring the calm and joy of green sketching in your life.
Suitable for all artistic abilities - absolutely no artistic talent or experience is required. Suitable for adults and young people aged 11 and over (under 16s should be accompanied by an adult).
£22.50 per person, including use of materials, a sketch book to take home and light refreshments. Advance booking and payment is essential.

Workshops will run in all weathers apart from torrential rain – please dress appropriately for the weather conditions. In event the workshop is cancelled due to bad weather a full refund will be issued. Should bad weather be forecast we will contact you at least 48hrs before.

The workshop will take place over rough ground and un-made paths and some inclines which may pose accessibility concerns for some – please get in touch for further information before booking.

A little bit more about Green Sketching:
I am a Green Sketching Ambassador. Green Sketching is a concept developed by professional artist and former UN climate change advisor Dr Ali Foxon, it aims to combine environmental engagement, wellbeing and education. She says: “Green Sketching is a new confidence-boosting approach to sketching nature outdoors that's focused on joy-spotting and mindful observation. It's an enjoyable and effective way to relax, de-stress and calm an anxious, information-overloaded mind.”
