feltmaking workshops

Feltmaking is an ancient craft that uses sheep's wool to produce a fabric. Water and soap are added to wool fibres which are then rubbed together to mat and shrink. You can create beautiful colourful pictures and it is great fun!

Lindsay has been teaching feltmaking at Park Farm for over 5 years and also sells her work at craft markets and festivals. Her studio is next door to the Honesty Shop and she is always happy to talk about her latest project.

for children aged 4+ and their grownups
Learn how to make beautiful handmade felt pictures from sheep's wool!
Lindsay will be unable able to personally run any workshops for the first half of 2018, however professional feltmaker and workshop tutor Nicki Parsons has kindly agreed to come and teach feltmaking at the farm, so do still get in touch to book your workshop!
You can see Nicki's work here: www.nickiparsons.com
Each workshop lasts approx. 1hr30min and at the end of it you will have a felt picture to take home as a souvenir of your stay on the farm.
We can cater for any age participants however ages 4-12years generally get the most from the workshops.

Children under 10 years should be accompanied by an adult.

Under 8s should have one adult per child, 8-10yrs one adult between two or three children is fine.

Workshops can be run on Saturdays and weekdays subject to availability.
Please contact us at parkfarm@therealcampsite.co.uk to enquire about booking a workshop.
Option 1. Private Workshop - Just for your group
Please get in touch for full details of pricing and minimum/maximum numbers.

Unfortunately we will not be able to run any open workshops in the first half of the 2018 season, however there may be some limited availability for open workshops later in 2018, please contact us for details.
Let us know if you would definitely like to do a workshop and we will give everyone else the option of signing up to join in too. Or if we already have an open workshop planned for during stay you can join in too. Numbers will be limited to 8 children per session.
